PLATINUM HEALTH GUIDE
Funding Programs That Help You
live better
Figuring out how to pay for health and disability support shouldn’t feel like decoding a puzzle. At Platinum Health, we’re all about making things easier. That’s why we’ve put together this quick guide to the major funding programs available in Australia that can help cover the cost of your healthcare essentials.
Whether you're looking for mobility aids, continence support, or nutritional supplements, chances are there's a program out there ready to back you up — and we’re here to help you access it.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
If you're eligible for the NDIS, you’ve got access to one of the best support systems in Australia — and we’re here to help you make the most of it. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is all about giving you more control, more support, and more choice when it comes to living life your way. If you’re under 65 and have a permanent disability, your plan might cover a whole range of helpful items — from daily essentials to bigger-ticket assistive tech.
- Mobility aids and continence support
- Assistive tech and equipment
- Home modifications
- Day-to-day health and wellbeing products
At Platinum Health, we make it easy to order the products you need — and we support all NDIS plans:
We offer free shipping on orders over $199*, a price match guarantee, and a friendly team ready to help with quotes, product advice, or just making sense of the process.
Not sure what’s covered or how to order? Give us a call on 1300 60 44 99 — we’re here to help, every step of the way. Chase us up for our NDIS registration details — we’ll get you sorted.

My Aged Care
If you’re over 65 and want to keep living safely and comfortably at home, My Aged Care can help make that possible. It's the Australian Government’s main way of delivering aged care support — giving you access to services, funding, and equipment that make daily life a little easier.
Depending on your needs, there are two main programs under My Aged Care that might support you:
Need help understanding your options or organising a quote for your provider? Give us a call on 1300 60 44 99 — we’re always happy to help.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
If you’ve served our country, you may be eligible for funding through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) — and that support is designed to help you live safely, independently, and with dignity at home.
One of the key programs you might access is the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP). Through RAP and related services, the DVA helps cover a wide range of aids and equipment to support your health, wellbeing, and everyday needs.
Home Care Packages (HCP)
If you’re an older Australian wanting to stay safe, supported, and independent in your own home, Home Care Packages (HCP) can help you do just that.
Funded by the Australian Government through My Aged Care, these packages give you access to a range of services and products that support your health and wellbeing as you age.
Home Enteral Nutrition (HEN) Program – Victoria
If you or someone you care for needs long-term tube feeding support at home, the Home Enteral Nutrition (HEN) Program in Victoria may be able to help.
The program is run by Cardinal Health in partnership with the Victorian Government, and it's designed to support people who rely on tube feeding due to chronic illness, disability, or recovery needs.
Continence Aids Payment Scheme (CAPS)
Managing incontinence can feel overwhelming — but you're not alone, and support is available. The Continence Aids Payment Scheme (CAPS) offers direct financial assistance to help you purchase the continence products you need to stay comfortable, independent, and in control.
Funded by the Australian Government, CAPS provides an annual payment to eligible people living with permanent and severe incontinence, helping reduce the cost of essential supplies.
State and Territory Equipment Schemes
Every state and territory in Australia has programs to help people access the tools they need to live independently.
Here are just a few:
- Victoria – Victorian Aids and Equipment Program & State-wide Equipment Program (SWEP)
- NSW - EnableNSW
- Queensland – MASS (Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme)
- South Australia – Equipment Program
These schemes can help cover costs for items like wheelchairs, walking aids, or continence products — even if you’re not eligible for NDIS or My Aged Care.
Tip: Check with your local health department to see what you might be eligible for, or give us a call and we’ll help you figure it out.
Community and Charity Supports
Sometimes, the best support comes from the heart of the community. There are amazing organisations offering extra help for people who need it most.
You might be eligible for:
- Grants through the Continence Foundation of Australia
- Assistance from Red Cross, Carer Gateway, or other advocacy groups
- Local council or non-profit programs designed to fill the gaps
These supports can make all the difference when you need that extra boost — and we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
